Pope Benedict XVI said it at the Mass that began his pontificate in 2005: "Each of us is willed, each of us is loved, each of us is necessary."

Willed means God wanted you here on purpose. Loved means you don't have to earn your place. Necessary means the Church is missing something when the gifts God has given you go unused. All three are true about you today, before you do anything to deserve them.

Wear it on the days you need the reminder. Give it to the teenager, the new parent, or the friend who wonders whether they matter. They do, and this shirt says so.
